Lake Willoughby is a 300 foot deep glacial lake nestled between Mount Hor and Mount Pisgah in the Northeast Kingdom village of Westmore. The lake provides boating access as well as opportunities for swimming, fishing and kayaking. The lake is 3 miles from the Orchard Cabin.

On the Water

Fish

Fishing poles and supplies are on sale at the Willoughby Lake Store as well as live bait. Pick up a fishing license at the store as well. Another option is the Evansville Trading Post for your supplies.

Boat

There is a public boat launch along Route 5a. Pull in and launch your boat for the day. At the cabin, you can unhitch and store your boat on the road side of the land bridge while you cross and park near the cabin. A perfect set up.

Swim

The North and South ends of the lake are perfect spots to swim and relax for a few hours in the sun. If you forget your towel or sunscreen you can go down to the Willoughby Lake Store and pick some up!

Kayak

Launch off one of the beaches or the public boat launch on Route 5a for a peaceful day of paddling on Lake Willoughby.
