Be Off-Grid
Originally, there were wild old apple trees, overgrown fields, and a cabin which housed local stray cats, birds, and raccoons. Though dilapidated, the connection to the land permeated the cabin. I loved what I saw, and set about making this into a 3-season off-grid dwelling, reclaiming the fields, and continuously making this a more livable site.
Following the philosophy so aptly described by Hellen and Scott Nearing of the back to the land movement, I'm working to develop and promote a truly sustainable relationship with the land. This is a work in progress and as the years go by, the site reflects our ongoing stewardship.
